@Doug - The only tables we'll probably be at are the
ones with great food!
October 29, 2011 at
2:28 pm
@Bob - I gave up on those 22 oz rib eyes long ago.
(well , I plan to give them up tomorrow)
October 29, 2011 at
2:29 pm

I guess these old Ray Bans couldn't handle the new prescription. Are my eyes that bad?
October 13, 2011 at 6:57 am
Common. You can repair that. Little bit of glue,
ductape, etc. I had a broken wing and used heat shrink tubing to
repair.
October 13, 2011 at
7:25 am
Just old ...
October 13, 2011 at

shrimp.

September 23, 2011 at 10:48 am
I didn't have my glasses on when I first looked at
this and I thought it was a crop circle! HA!
September 23, 2011 at

Are you teaching wordworking?! Watch those fingers and
wear eye protection! =)
September 23, 2011 at
12:39 pm
Did you pass or fail?
September 23, 2011 at
3:26 pm
Hey, could do this to a small table top for me? I need
about a 12x12 recessed square in order to place some tile in it. I was
thinking that I might do it with a regular router
September 23, 2011 at
3:29 pm
We could do one. Is the top detached? And what if I
screw it up?
September 23, 2011 at
4:01 pm
The top can be detached. If you screw it up we'll have
a table with some of it's top missing. It wasn't expensive anyway.
September 23, 2011 at
4:05 pm
Nice work!
September 25, 2011 at

September 11, 2011 at

September 11, 2011 at

Is that chocolate, cheese and raspberries all on the
same plate? And bread? What else does one need, besides perhaps wine,
which i suspect you also had.

This is Edgewood park near Angela's place. A beautiful
place to walk.
August 27, 2011 at 2:45
pm

This is going to keep me busy
UPDATE: In November I finished reading all five volumes. What a marvelous look at cooking. A lot of science, but also a lot of techniques. I've tried a few purified vegetable waters, I've had some fun with the siphon. The biggest success has been sous vide rib eye, but I was already working on that before the books came. This was a kitchen life changing read.
August 26, 2011 at 4:05 pm

something on a plate. That's dedication.

A day later. Look closely and see how much rain is falling on the water.
August 11, 2011 at 6:20 pm
Great cloud photo!
August 11, 2011 at 6:57
pm
What , so you let a 'little' rain keep you from
fishing! The boats are still floating so what's the issue?
August 11, 2011 at 9:00
pm
Lightning strikes directly overhead.
August 12, 2011 at 5:42

@bob. You can see the rain as almost a waterfall from

(I love Edgewood Park.)
July 3, 2011 at 9:53

I found this usage mildly annoying. 30 minutes of Googling later I am still annoyed but more informed. (Yes, about those little dots.)
July 2, 2011 at 6:12 pm

And this is *so* informative.
July 2, 2011 at 4:42 pm
H2O - glad they mentioned the oxygen
July 2, 2011 at 8:22

At least they only call it one serving.
July 7, 2011 at 4:32

"the best" but is it better than others? I don't think so.
July 2, 2011 at 4:41 pm

June 30, 2011 at 5:53 am
that's a loooong fence Jim!!! :-) Did you build it? We
know you can do just about anything you set your mind to :-)
June 30, 2011 at 5:55

solid-good job!
June 30, 2011 at 6:19

June 30, 2011 at 8:59
am
Do you think the wrought iron and brass entree gates
will look good with that design?
June 30, 2011 at 9:01
am
The entree gates need to have pineapples on the
posts.
June 30, 2011 at 9:03
am
Don't use those pointy tops on the wrought iron fence
posts...My friend's dog impaled himself jumping over one of those and now
that's all I can see when I see those dang pointy posts.
June 30, 2011 at 1:00
pm
Pineapples sound safe...
June 30, 2011 at 1:01
pm
I can't wait to see the gate now, sorry about the
impaled pooch, poor thing.

June 23, 2011 at 8:49

-> Jim, I am hoping we can take back some seats,
keep O and make some serious headway on progressive issues. My soul HOPE
re: O is that he has finally learned that the other side just hates him
and wants him out no matter how they do it [Suing a serving President?
Really? Really? Can you imagine what Dems would have been called if they
tried a stunt like that (and yes, I do know a some Dems are mad about
Libya, too)? 'Terrorists' or 'Traitors' comes to mind.] My soul HOPE for
the party is that their spines grow back and they no longer care about
'taking the high road'. I want them to get down and dirty if that is what
it takes to get their way. Politics is just a bar fight right now -- I
don't like it, but that IS the way it is. To ignore that fact is to get a
drink thrown in your face and your ass kicked. If you cannot handle it, do
not go in to the metaphorical bar in the first place. Ta-dummmmmmmmmmmm!
=)

It will be interesting to see who the Republicans
nominate. A moderate would bring some welcome debate.
June 23, 2011 at 5:40
pm
Yes it will be interesting...quite a big pool at the
moment. Last night my daughter told me she wanted Gore to run again! I
wonder if he could win on an independent ticket against O. You saw him
come out against O's environmental record this week, I am sure.

Angela says the tulips at Filoli are in prime form. This weekend is the time to see them. If you go today look for her by the pool.

October 16, 2010 at

@Jon. I was using it because I was afraid Id lose it

I agree with my bro on this one
August 18, 2010 at 6:22

Chihuly at Meijer Gardens. A beautiful installation.
July 20, 2010 at 12:41 pm
I am so jealous!!! I look his work. I have seen s few
exhibits in galleries, but the outdor installations are amazing. PBS has a
great documentary about him.
July 22, 2010 at 10:50
am
While there we went in to the theater expecting to
watch a few minutes of the documentary and ended up staying for the entire
90 minute show. It was fascinating to see how they do it. We were in
Tumwater years ago and the museum there is good to see, but the garden
installations are the best.
July 25, 2010 at 8:27

I have some dead trees out back that you can paint for
a similar effect.
July 25, 2010 at 11:26
pm
If you're not satiated yet, I have posted some photos
of Chihuly both during the day and at night. The exhibit was at the Desert
Botanical Garden here in Phoenix, a landmark in its own right --- enhanced
with the artistic glass sculptures of Dale Chihuly.
July 26, 2010 at 5:36

Living in WA, I've seen tons of his work -- he is
amazing!
July 26, 2010 at 11:15

We moved that old dresser from the dining room to the green bedroom. It looks pretty good up there and the dining room seems so much larger now.

Buy more Apple products!
June 20, 2010 at 5:30
pm
there is a gentleman at my mom's nursing home who is
always on his Apple laptop! While Mom is not technically oriented, she
made it a point to explain to the other ladies at Bingo what a laptop is
and what it does. "My daughter ALWAYS has hers going!" (that's me!) I
think it's great for our seniors; it definitely keeps their minds
moving!

plant...with Angela in the background.
May 22, 2010 at 8:14

i left a garden full of this white sage behind when i
moved to oregon. the resiny scent of it is to die for. have you tried to
propagate this one?
May 22, 2010 at 8:21

I looked more closely - it's really two plants. I
think Angela has been able to grow cuttings.
May 22, 2010 at 11:34

I'm afraid, very afraid. I just planted two white
sages in my front bed. May have to move them next year if this is what I
should expect!
